A week back on Sunday, August 18th, 2019, the Rolex Festival returned for a fourth edition at the spacious Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala, moving from their three-year home at the Uganda Museum grounds. By all event standards, this year’s edition was a success as it was overwhelmingly attended.

The Rolex Festival 2019 success birthed what has been branded the ‘Rolex Festival Tour’ and for the maiden tour, Jinja will this December play host to the most popular and attended food event in Uganda.

This year’s Rolex Festival put the focus on smartly running the Rolex business with a focus on quality, health, hygiene, and environment demands. The organizers held experiential activations where entrepreneurs in the Rolex business were given hands-on skills and tips on how to improve their businesses.

The Rolex is a popular food in Uganda that combines an omelette and mainly vegetables rolled in a chapati. Given that it is quick to prepare, a Rolex can be eaten at any time of the day, be it breakfast, lunch, supper, or snack.

The Rolex Festival is a brainchild of Enid Mirembe, Miss Tourism Busoga 2015/16, and was awarded ‘Food Event of the Year’ at the 2019 Ekkula Pearl of Africa Tourism Awards.
