It goes with no doubt that Uganda is acclaimed as a top tourist destination in Africa. Despite this, domestic tourism has been low and only started growing recently, though slowly. Jinja-based Travel Freaks read into the challenge and has had a couple of initiatives to interest Ugandans into domestic tourism.

Having started out in 7 years ago, Travel Freaks are now back with another edition of Sipi Escapades, one of their many popular and budget tours. “For first-timers, we guarantee the best travel experience with our adventure-filled itinerary,” said Travel Freaks’ Julius Asaba. “Folks should expect our trademark topnotch service.”

Travel Freaks has run trips to Ssezibwa Falls, Mabira Forest, Source of The Nile, Samuka Island, Itanda Falls, Wanale Hills, Mountain Elgon, Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa, Ssese Islands, Murchison Falls, Lake Mburo National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Mombasa and Zanzibar.

“Our target group is young corporates for whom we design affordable group road trips but on demand, we’ve touched pretty much every demographic with private trips, corporate retreats, honeymoons etcetera,” offered Julius when asked about the audience they’re attracting for this Sipi Escapades edition.

Travel Freaks was co-founded in 2012 by Julius Asaba and Fortune Mukiibi and incorporated in 2014. Julius is an ICT Practitioner whereas Fortune is a lawyer by profession. The two were bonded by their passion for travel and adventure from their early days in life as Boy Scouts.
