If you have listened to 90.6 Busoga One FM recently, you should have noticed some difference. We do not yet know what the change is yet but the radio is now different in oba a better way! We are told part of the difference lay in the new roles and assignments at the the station.

At the start of June 2017, nothing could be better for Rio Alton Kasolo than news of his appointment to head programming at the Ambercourt-based infant radio station. Busoga One FM has until June 1st 2017 been running without a Programs Director. Rio Alton Kasolo becomes the first PD at the station that went on-air with programming a few months back.

Busoga One FM’s Kissibo Hawali has been the Programs Director in acting capacity

“When we started here, we were all on probation and our permanent appointment was dependent on each one’s performance. Some of us were given coordination roles in the different departments and I was tasked to coordinate the production department though I was a presenter. My colleagues Kissibo Hawali and Ivulungo were tasked to coordinate the radio programs.” Kasolo shed light on how the radio has been operating without a PD.

“Kasolo, who received his appointment letter on June 1st 2017, is now the bull’s eye for whatever might go well or bad…”

Busoga One FM appraised its staff recently and let off some as they didn’t meet what the station wanted. Many have misinterpreted the move as the station being broke and downsizing to stay afloat.

Kasolo, who received his appointment letter on June 1st 2017, is now the bull’s eye for whatever might go well or bad at the station that broadcasts on 90.6FM. Given his experience working with different media houses, we can surely hope for the best but only time can tell that one out. Congratulation are in order for you Mr. PD.

Busoga One FM is co-owned by former Jinja East MP, Paul Mwiru and a gentleman, Mugoya who prefers to keep at the backseat of everything.
