After the just-concluded 2019 Copa Coca Cola schools’ championship in Jinja, a select team of 20 outstanding players in the tournament were sent to Nairobi, Kenya for a tour by Coca Cola, the tournament sponsors.

Jinja Senior Secondary School’s Lawrence Tezikya, who emerged Top Scorer of the tournament after netting 13 goals, was expected to be part of the squad traveling to Kenya to enjoy the fruits of his hard work but to everyone’s surprise, the two-time Golden Boot winner was not on the list read out after the finals.

In a private chat with Skizar, Tezikya cleared the air. “Yes it’s true I was supposed to be on the squad and I was initially disappointed for not appearing on the list,” said Tezikya in a relaxed tone. “However, the organizers called and explained that since I had been on the list before, I couldn’t appear again. Remember I was on list in 2017 so it is understandable that I didn’t appear this time round,” he added.
