Swangz Avenue boss Julius Kyazze yesterday morning took to his Facebook timeline to announce his resignation as Chairman of the Uganda Musicians’; Association. The announcement that has been taken with mixed reactions was made at 6:20am.
According to the announcement, personal commitments have left very little time for the entertainment business enthusiast who has been behind and a part of successful local brands and events, including the recent Swangz AllStar Concert that featured Jamaican artist Tarrus Riley.
“I have left UMA in solid hands and I will stay an active proud member…”
Julius Kyazze was, in October 2017, elected by musicians, deejays, journalists and entertainment stakeholders to steer the then newly created Uganda Musicians’ Association, an offshoot of the “Save Uganda Music” campaign.
Far from what some pundits are portraying that Julius has thrown in the towel, the entertainment businessman promises to continue being a member of the association. Uganda Musicians’ Association has, however, not yet come up with any statement to this effect but we hope to hear word about a new chairperson.
