For those who love to see men and women with abs tussling it out and showing their stamina and composure in taking on their opponents, do not remain home watching TV; there’s rugby action today. The 4th edition of the East Africa Rugby Sevens is set to happen at the Jinja Rugby grounds this weekend.
The two-day tourney is set to run from Saturday 31st August 2019 to Sunday 1st September 2019 at the Jinja Rugby grounds commonly known as Dams Water. Participants in this tourney comprise hosts Uganda, Kenya, Malawi and Tanzania with boys and girls competing in the U15 and U18 categories.
Rugby Sevens, originally known as Seven-a-side Rugby, is a variant of rugby union in which teams are made up of seven players playing seven-minute halves instead of the usual 15 players playing 40-minutes halves. Rugby sevens is administered by World Rugby, the body responsible for rugby union worldwide. The game is popular at all levels, with amateur and club tournaments.
