BUL FC unveils Ronald Barente as new Chairman

BIDCO Uganda Limited Football Club (BUL FC) has confirmed Ronald Barente as the new Club Chairman with immediate effect. Chairman Barente will hold his new position for a period of four years.

The news was communicated at a press briefing held at the club Head Office in Masese, Jinja, this morning. In effect, Barente replaces Silver Alias who has held this position since the club’s elevation to Uganda’s top football tier in the 2011/12 season.

“The management organized a free and fair election last week between Alias Silver and Ronald Barente. The voters opted for Barente to steer the club further. Out of the 28 members who voted, 19 voted Barente,” said Joseph Mutaka, BUL FC’s head of communications at the press briefing.

“We thank Mr Alias Silver for his unprecedented leadership since the club gained promotion in 2011 and we are grateful for his enthusiastic contributions to the team,” said Ronald Barente. “It is worth noting that Mr Alias was the first company staff to run this Club. He leaves it in a good state of performance. We sit second on the 16-team log with 28 points gathered thus this far,” he added.

What lies ahead of Barente?

Ronald Barente’s immediate task is to bring in a new club Chief Executive Officer. The CEO position was declared vacant after Salmin Saleh’s contract expired in August and wasn’t renewed. Barente will also have to see off the last fixture of the Uganda Premier League first round in which BUL FC will face Proline FC tomorrow Saturday 16th November at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe.
